It is as if the coding in the game itself has been changed...I now always require zero crew and have too many, and the game will not start because of this.
That's really odd mate. I'm using the new JSGME without any problems, so there must be something else going wrong. Try installing SH3 and see if you have proplems. If you don't then install GWX 1.00 (and work your way up to v1.03) and see how things are. That way you take out the possible error variables one by one. I know it's a messy thing to do but I cannot think of anything else at the moment.

I would say reinstall GWX but don't install JSGME, make sure the game runs fine that way first. That way you can be sure there isn't a stray leftover file from the update left on the computer. If it works try loading the older version of JSGME and see what happens. Then do the mods one at a time.

First the best news: it's working again!

Thank-you to all for your advice.

I am sure now that I must have done something wrong during installation of the JSGME update....just what, I'll never know.

Shortly after my last post my power unit burnt out, so I've been out of touch while my PC has been in the shop.
I took advantage of the opportunity to upgrade my hard drive from 40 GB to 500 GB!

So last night I reloaded the game from scratch, checking each installed version step by step along the way, and no problems now.
