History is not made of scrapmetal. It is made through the blood sweat and tears and sacrifice of our fathers. The metal was only the tools.

Still its nice to have historical relics in order to help us remember those sacrifices.

I signed it.

You know they're not scrapping it, right? They're slicing it into 3 pieces and glassing over each section so people can see inside. It'll still be a museum exhibit.

I still disagree, and signed the petition, but you shouldn't be signing petitions when given false impressions.

Read the following link:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/secondworl...152149,00.html

As you can see, plans are in the works to raise another. As one might find it's final end, another will be brought to life again.

I had thought U534 had found a home. At any rate, I signed anyway.

It IS going to a museum, that's what you're protesting AGAINST. Read what you sign!

Signed Both! Also I'm gonna email the link to my friends to stop this from happening. Why they need to butcher her like this I don't know I could think of a half dozen interesting ways to display her without cutting her in three!

I signed it as well. It might go to a museum, but they shouldn't destroy it and that's just what they'll do if they cut the boat in three pieces.
Imagine they would cut HMS Victory in 3 pieces to make it easier to see anything.

I signed it. the only way for someone to see what those men went through is to actually walk through that boat, not look at it through a window. the 534 deserves the same respect as the 505 maybe more since she was sunk and presumed dead, but here she is for all to see 60 years later. kind of a lazarus story i think.... well ... sort of. anyway, end of rant lol.
