I spotted my one on jims FF Page a while ago and let it ride, jim you could had asked and I would not objected. I am prepared to let jim off the hook but if I find any of my skins else where you better have a good explanation.

I can't believe we're having this debate, but here goes.....I was always under the impression that whenever someone releases a mod and gives permission for it's use 'but not for commercial use' etc. etc. there was never any historical problem with others helping to share that work around the community. Hell!!....look on FF as an example and you'll be hard pressed not to find countless others sharing/distributing work to the community.
It definitely looks like the ethos I've tried to adhere to (for the benefit of others) is wrong, even if meant in good faith.
Anyways....no prob STEED and no foul intended......I'll take down your skin and the rest of the files as soon as FF allows (acting itself this morning.....and besides, that hook is irritating my back ).
GWX stuff will be maintained as per our fine tradition of servicing the community

This is taking things a bit too far.

Providing mirrors/extra links to peoples work should be actively supported & rewarded. SH3 users who take the extra time to upload someone else's work (in it's original format) to preserve it's existance are doing the community and creator an excellent service.

We have lost too many good mods because the creator is not longer active and his links have died. Did Terrapin ask everyone for permission. Nope, cos he was providing a service to keep all the mods alive.

Let's not blur the line between hosting others work and stealing others work. Remember, they're still the creators files and with more mirrors, more people will be able to use your work.

IMHO, this type of occurance benefits the community/creator. Carry on.

In hindsight though, I'll only be removing the one in that case (still can't get into the FF site though )...and when the long arm of the law knocks on the door, they'll probably say "This is Jims house we'd better take a few cans round as well as that McDonalds he never got to eat the other night"

I too am with Danlisa on this I saw uberboot at the bottom
of the list on plisskens page but it doesnt bug me in the least
hes posted for access not trying to take credit for it

and how many of us have had the experience of losing a file
that we made that we had to get copy back from someone else
due to inept backup discipline.

I'm new to this forum, so I should not admonish anyone, but ...... stop acting like a banch of lady's, have a beer, and go on patrol. Everyone's work sholud be respected but for common good there were and there will be exceptions, for example like those mentioned by danlisa and melnibonian. Stop acting like recruits, you have your boats to command, and respect from people who admire your work. Don't let them down.

Yeah, your probably right, your new. So when you've been around long enough to know me and figure out what I like to do in work and play you'll probably realise I seldom if ever 'act like a lady'.....the streets of the UK are far too violent for that luxury
