Default Therefore a strategy

Therefore your strategy must not be to wound ships. Your mission, sailor, is to sink ships. It is better to sink one ship than damage three. Is that clear, captain? Now go out there, fire proper spreads from under 1000 yards out and bring me some sunk tonnage next cruise! I have plenty of captains who can give merchants boo-boos. I want 'em on the bottom of the ocean. Do I make myself clear? Dismissed!

Love,
Admiral Lockwood

Rougher seas help in slowing down wounded ships. I go after a lot more targets simultaneously with rough seas than in calm ones. Sometimes the wave actions help sink the ship, when in calm waters the same damage would have let it steam right on at 7 knots... But as was said, you should concentrate on critically damaging one rather than merely wounding 2 or 3.

Considering that there's no credit for damage, just go for the sink. I once DID manage to knock out 3 ships from a convoy (all dead in the water) but that was back when I used auto targetting.

Default Admiral Lockwood

Did you see the look on the Admiral's face? I don't think he was too happy. He wants the Japanese merchant fleet on the ocean floor as homes for all the fishies that are being left homeless by the war. Actually, Admiral Lockwood is ahead of his time. He's a conservationist who seeks to save wildlife from the ravages of man. He's 30 years ahead of Greenpeace. Doesn't that make you feel warm and fuzzy all over? :rotfl:

So get to building those fish sanctuaries!
