I just tried the demo mission of this Jap-Russo navy wargame. It's quite nice being able to control the ships in a flotilla and see them shoot all their guns in a battleship line but the battle gameplay is kinda linear.
The demo scenario (Ulsan) is very one sided towards a russian victory, and for some reason the jap cruisers are weaker even though, according to the manual, their task force is about twice the combined strength. In a line battle (~5km distance) with 4 cruisers to 3 in my favour with (supposedly) superior vessels I still came off worse as my 203mms were all knocked out. Anybody played to full version to comment? |
