It is to a point akulas range is 16,000 yards comftable it can go twice that but you wont see squat on the display screen the read will be too small hence why it is classified as inferior untill now hehe

Akula has also got a very stable, not jumpy, rotating narrowband sonar display. It's much easier to pick up display signature in Akula, then in Seawolf.Choice of weapons is also much wider.ESM and Radio antennas are also more durable, unlike ones in Seawolf.

In general,it seems that driving Akula you are absolutely free in your actions, sub extremely reliable, masts, antennas do not fail. You don't have to think "what will happen if".The best sub in game,I think. And also the most beautiful one.

As an experianced akula diver you will find that the masts and towed array are prone to failure just as easily as the 688i or seawolf, however the akula is smaller than a seawolf and displaces 2,000 tonne less and carrys less crew.

the akulas were built for under ice and blue water operations and to aid SSGN movements (oscar echo and julliette class's) in order to smash an american battle group to bits, today they are multi role platforms and are used to do the same missions the 688i's do.

After personally touring 3 such submarines in real life i can quite honestly say yes id rather be in a akula that a british or american submarine simply because of space.

in the game you will find that the seawolf out performs the akula in target detection capibility but to cover that the akula makes up for it in weapon versatility, if you use the correct weapons the correct way and use correct tactics you can kill a seawolf before he can get within any firing range dont forget his torpedos have a max range of 27 miles he will more than likely come and close to around 10 miles to shoot, so if you pick him up at 15 miles and fire 3 SS-N-16 stallions he is pretty much dead.
