Curious -- is there any reason or benefit to using Mav's camera mod if one is not using a Mark3B Range Calculator gizmo?

Well - one advantage is that now the periscopes actualy WORK as they did in real life - ie. you can id a ship at the range you are supposed to and the ships present them selfs the correct way. (how much scope they fill at range)

No matter what the ticks in the scope should cover X amount of feet at Y range. This is measured in both degrees (angular field of view) and in feet (linieer field of view). Both scopes have a angular field of view of 8 deg. at high power (x6) and 32 deg. in low power (x1,5)

For example, in hight power with 8 deg. (angular) field of view has a (linear) field of view of 419,4 feet per 1000 yards. Meening a target of 420 ft. in lenght placed at a range of 1000 yards should touch both the left and right side of the periscope view.

As long as the FOV is less than about 10 degrees or so, the following approximation formulas allow one to convert between linear and angular field of view.
Let A be the angular field of view in degrees. Let L be the linear field of view in feet per 1000 yards. Let M be the linear field of view in millimeters per meter. Then:

How do you make the scopes zoom in more? I want the zoom to be at 20x.

You write in nice words to BeuOrd in 3 copys through your imidiately superior officer - pray - pray and pray for years that they then come up with something you have asked for, and something that works....

Three copies? Each form must be in triplicate. There are 14 forms!:rotfl:

For what you have made it?
Usually you use ZoomLevels parameter (switched by Tab key) ...
For UZO it's - 7x;
For bino - 7x;
For ObsPeri - 1x, 4x;
For Attack Peri - 1.5x, 6x.
MinZoom and MaxZoom it's a potential opportunity for tweaking ...

"Clear your cache and try it again."

I do a wipe of my cookies/temp internet files/history everytime I get off the net.

It's filefront an not my system.....

I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW what your gonna say but filefront an my security setting DONT mix >>>>>>> I HATE FILEFRONT an a few other DL site modders are using.

I'd be nice if U-Boot.realsimulation.com didn't start making people sign up to get a FREE file but I guess there paranoid that someones gonna STEAL a FREE file.

Rather set the zoom level to the one you want and then regulate the Angular Angle untill the ships have the size you want. Altering zoom solo will only give you "that much" zoom effect. In my mod i changed zoom to the original specs from the real boats:
For TBT(UZO) it's - 7x;
For bino - 7x;
For ObsPeri - 1.5x, 6x;
For Attack Peri - 1.5x, 6x.

Then i adjusted the Angular Angle so the ships had the correct LinierLenght (a ship of 450 ft. fills X-much division markers in the scope at Y range) in all of the observation aids. It actualy gives pretty much zoom over the stock effect. Im able to localize mastheads over the horizon in good weather now and able to begin Stadimeter ranging at around 8000-9000 yards (witch to me allso seems about right as the Steadimeter guage does not extend to more then 9000 yards...). In my opinion having a larger zoomlens is rather pointless as all you need at 9000+ yards are bearing and relative movement in order to direct your intercept course. From 9000 yards you have ample time to ID and finetune the solution untill your shot.
