...will address 2 of your 4 complaints (toning down brightness and remembering the page).
Those 2 "fixes" are by far the most important to me. JD |

How about going back to the recognition manual we had in SH I, it had tabs for each class of ship and angles on the bow. I cant imagine why Ubi took such a step backwards with the manual we have. The best way to improve the situation is to print your own. I have original and reprints of ONI 208-J Japanese Merchant ships, FM 30-50 and ONI 41-42, Japanese Naval Vessels. There is some very interesting information in these manuals that could be usefull in SHIV. One thing worth noting is that the merchant recognition manuals to NOT have angle on the bow illustrations. If I ever get the time to do it, I intend to put one together with copies of the original material for each class of ship found in SHIV. mine will have silhouetts of the basic ship classes with the AVERAGE mast height for each class and a note about the exceptions to the average. This would be very usefull. In the meantime, someone in the mods forum posted a very nice printable recognition manual which is the only one I am using now, the one in the game is useless. Joe S
