Myself I've started to dive before I fire the torps in the IX. You've got a good minute or two before the sea starts to cover your scope.

And then I will go 5-6 knots until just before the toprs hit. Though I hate to do that, the quicker depth is needed.

With realistic reload times, I always "punch it" and head for the depths after every salvo, regardless of the boat I'm driving.
