Imagine the lag!!

I think it will be 50-100 years before we can reasonably play anything that sophisticated. Just hope the simulator market gets big by then.

plus, you could imagine the imbalances - you would get more people joining the air forces than the naval, and some tool sailing around in a Yamato sinking everyone elses tugboats.

Thanks for the replies people.I know, one can only dream. We simmers are a special breed. For brief moments,we escape the bonds of reality.subs,aeroplanes,tanks,etc., are the instruments we use to go back and assume the role of a pilot, skipper, gunner, commander.Wife walks by and says"playing them little boys games again!"She don't know it,but she is on the way to the brig for insuboardination in my little boys game, hehehehe!

I too have run the gamut on simnulations. I used to love WWIIOL, and was part of the Allied High Command. It was a fair mix of everything (except Subs lol). The game was necessarily a bit behind graphically but the concept was the great thing there. The problem with it that forced me to leave was they released a "Christmas patch" which forced the game down to a max of 4-9 FPS. Simply unplayable. I hear they have tweaked it and it is playable again, but that much lag on a game with 2001 graphics must mean the scope of the game was just too large. Pity though, for a while it was great fun.
