Alternative Mods for SHIII

Hi all..

Now i´ve finished SH III campaign 3 times, all from the beginning to the end.
Now I want to try something out the ordinary - and one of my friends told me about mods for SH 3 and 4, that tweaked the Torpedoes, Guns, and even the U-boats in the game.. Does anyone know how or where I can find these mods?

Very addictive, but you end up spending more time tinking around than actually playing anything!

Has happened to anyone before you ..

When you say "completed SH3 campaign 3 times". Is that stock SH3?

If it is, well then try GWX or NYGM and then see if you can still survive the war.

Presuming you are running stock SH3 patched 1.4

SH3Commander can tweek several things such as game play settings and gun load times. There are some other tweeking exe's that modify other game files you can change flak gun load times etc. But these are not mods so to say, actually programs to alter game files before you start the game. I don't belive anyone here wouldn't recomend Commander's options btw.

For actuall game mods there are loads of individual mods and there are also supermods like NYGM, GWX & War Ace Campaign.
I have a preference for WAC, the new version Rocks

Most mods can be installed with another program called JSGME (mod enabler) except for GWX. The forum has sticky threads for mos of these mods. On the SHIII forum there is another sticky you can find links and information.
The UBIsoft forum also has similar sticky threads/links.
The UBRS site is - I dunno what's goin on over there.

Before we start pounding NE0 about what mods we think he would like, I wonder if he is talking about Wolfies Tweek Pak?

Though I am naturally biased and try to stay away from comparative threads these days, GWX employs an installer to keep things simple for those who are not experienced at patching their game.

GWX also adds new player U-boat bases and two new operational areas (Indian Ocean and Black Sea) without loss of existing functionality.

The list of changes and additions in GWX is vast. See the GWX manual for complete listing.

Thanks a lot, all of you.
I´ve read a bit about those TGW and WAC etc.
These mods make a lot of changes, and thats nice of course - but I just wanted to start with having some fun with the British in SH3 - with better torpedoes, and deck guns that have a lot more kick.. sort of speaking..

Later on, I for sure am gonna try the other big mods.
I do really hope you understand, i´ve seen the "Woolfies Tweak Program"
Where you can add more torpedoes to your sub... But it dosn´t work - or maybe i´m just not doing it right..

I can't believe I'm going to do this......

Have a look at the sticky in this section that's called Uberboot by Mush Martin. If you really just want to cruise about killing stuff this is your choice or maybe try Grand Theft Auto.:rotfl:

I'll take cash MM.
