That's a good question, and you know what, I had no idea, so I decided to find out by putting SH4 on the most miserable lowest settings possible, and here's what it looks like:

Think they are calles NSS_GATO_T01lr or something like that. I think they will be used when "use normal maps" in option menu is disabled. If you use these low-res files, the original boats (low-res) will appear. |

I guess if, this didn't work and you wanted to replace the low res map with a different skin that had been done at high res, it would simply be a case of unpacking the DDS file, cropping it to 512x512 pixels at 72 DPI and then repacking it renamed to the low-res file's name, so there is scope to use high resolution textures at lower resolution with a bit of jiggery-pokery. One thing I will say is though, if you are going to try this, back up anything you intend to mess around with. (I know you probably know that, but sometimes it's easy to forget that kind of thing and then you want to kick yourself)
Damn I just spotted my forum icon, I've got to make some more posts quick, cos at the moment I look like one of the Village People. |

Nice work
![]() Though, there is a little mistake in the readme file : it is said : "Put the two 'NSS GatoTower' files in the folder: Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Textures\TNormal " Should say : "Put the two 'NSS GatoTower' files in the folder: Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Textures\TNormal\tex " I made this mistake and i had not new texture on my conning tower. Should be JSGME ready for not to be confused ![]() |
