I went to this mechanic (I live in America) and he had 2 mini's parked behind where the spare tire changes are kept. They were original Mini's from the 60s.

My mechanic has two original Minis on his property. One is in excellent condition (though not currently drivable), while the other has rust and other weather damage to both the body and chassis, but he's in the process of restoring it (he had to replace the rear subframe, for example. I don't know where he got it, but the replacement part looked brand new).

Took me a while to find the screenwash bottle and battery(they're in the boot with the spare wheel)
I've been driving cars for years now just not been able to afford a mini in such good condition, they go for quite a bit over here especially the old shape. She really is a dream to drive (like a go-kart) and such fun too ![]() Edit: And yes, we may drive on the wrong side of the road - but we were doing it first ![]() Last edited by robbo180265; 04-12-07 at 02:35 AM. |

Nice.
All you need to do now is chop off the front subframe and ditch the engine and front wings/bonnet. Then get yourself a 2L vauxhall 'red top' engine and new subframe kit to go with it and you have an uber hybrid mini ![]() ![]() http://www.btinternet.com/~honda.mini/hybrids/index.html

But have you seen the V-tech Mini on that site? Very nice, and all yours for £2000 (and a Mini of course) I belive the reason that we all drive on the left goes back to the days of horses. It allows your sword arm to be free to defend yourself. |

Yup, a while back I had the aptly named 'mini magazine' monthly. In it was a fantastic article concerning a chap who put a heavily modified supercharged vtec honda engin into his mini mayfair, limited slip differential and a whole host of other crazy goodies. From the outside it looked like an ordinary mini apart from the fat alloy wheels and a tiny 'R-type' badge on the rear quarter panel. it cost him about 15k for all of the parts and work on the engine and interior (tasteful leather seats and the like). He'd modified the Vtec system to kik in at 3000rpm instead of 5-6k
![]() What a machine. Really. Utterly insane, but you gotta hand it to the guy for creating a nifty wolf in sheeps clothing. If I had a scanner I'd post some of the pics for your appreciation.
