IXD2 as AI sub?
Has anyone thought of importing or has been working on importing the IXD2 from Sh3 as an AI unit?
I think they really need to be in the game. For starters, the idea of sinking another sub makes people giddy, and for two, they were both in the area, and a couple also sunk by US subs. |

I sometimes toy around with the idea of making a little SubRon 50 mod for operations in the Atlantic, particularly off Norway/in Biscay, with hunting U-boats being a primary mission there. (though historically, there is only one probable U-boat kill by a US sub recorded during these operations) :hmm: |

*shrug* i was just thinking of how fun it would be to raid Penang harbor and maybe catch a few german Monsun boats there. I mean, after all, some of us were in the indian ocean in said boat when we quit SH3. Err well, at least i was.

Ah, I forgot that you were all about harbor raiding :p
Just a matter of a quick do by those in the know. Shouldn't be too hard to get all the AI subs from SHIII here. I'd personally love to see allied AI subs sneaking around as well. |

LOL, not really. I did it occasionally, but not as often as people might think, and when i did it, i was VERY picky about when and where. When you play DiD, a harbor raid is a very serious decision. |

at the moment I try the Same. I Put teh Boat from SH3 into SH4 and work with the UPC Files. At the Moment the Result is a Germ-US Boat in Penang ![]() Good Hunt Sea Diver |

HMS Trenchent sank a long range type 9 near penang in late 1944, so its certainly a viable target that would be nice to see included.
Incidentally, is the German Merchant raider used at all? I dont recall seeing any unit tracks in the file in the campaign directory. |

Does pack3d even need to be used? My thought was, isnt all thats neccesary is to change the sub from playable to nonplayable, then just grab all the files, with the associated suport equipment files and assign it to germany in the roster? Or is there some flag in the dat files somewhere that needs to be changed as well?

The subs dont use a flag
Should just be the the folders Try C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Submarine and pick the NSS_Uboat9b4 - tis an AI sub already -IXD2 resupply so is the same Then grab the Resupply Boat cfg from C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Roster\German\S ubmarine That leaves the towers in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Objects Not sure which one of those you will need though Wont hurt to copy them all over to try |

Well you have all the info you need now Wilhelm\Ducimus or whoever Oh the file addresses I used were from GWX so dont go looking in stock for a resupply boat :rotfl: |
