You must have the disk in. Unfortunately thats just the way it is.

The reference to DLA that you say referrs to "Drive Letter Access." Some CD/DVD burners come with additional software that allow you to access a writable disk like a hard drive. This feature is built into Windows XP.

Has nothing to do with SH4 copy protection.
