Same here.

x1950XTX on XP.

First school mission (Nav). When you first come into the game go on deck and look at the 2 merchants coming at you off your port bow. I think there's one in that general erection 'cuz my frames tank.

Yeah, that's the first place I noticed this too. When I looked at the two merchants off the port side, it brought my fps to its knees.

No doubt Ubi will make short work of this bug.

As far as the debug thing, I had these set to "No" when I saw my first monolith...

So THAT's what it was, while my frames didn't dip to zero, they did drop quite a bit during that first school mission when looking to port. Doesn't seem to be a big problem, it shouldn't be too long before a fix comes.

I think Spongebob Squarepants got a job as a Predator and slipped into the wrong dimension.

I've seen these things too. They look like clipping frames. Game almost comes to a halt when they appear. They move pretty fast from what I've seen. More like the speed of an aircraft than a ship. When they are gone, all returns to normal.
For the record, I have a legal download of the game.

Well it is a submarine sim :rotfl:

I too had noticed a drop down to 2-3 fps last night during training but i hadn't noticed the 'window' floating out there. I'll have to test that again and see if I spot anything.

Anyone using an *ahem* non-standard .exe?

Per the dev's post, we know the game DOES use a 'FADE'-like protection scheme (confirmed responsible for the '2d crewman' and 'random numbers called out'). Seems this could well fall into that umbrella of 'minor annoying things that break'.
