i would just reload!

i dont want to say that this is stupid but loosing the game due to a game bug is ridiculous -- please do not get me wrong of course you can play like you want. but it´s a game do not restrict yourself like that.

if you die in a "normal" situation without being cheated i can understand...

Yes,maybe you are right.I should save once in a while and in case of "stupid death" reload from there.Otherwise sooner or later it will happen to me again.Almost happened actually in mu current patrol, but luckily my crew saw the DD just in time.I crush dived and sneaked away, just minor damage from scaping the sea floor.

Is there a solution for the heavy fog?

I can load you my very powerful vacuum cleaner, if that will help.

In heavy fog, you should always stay submerged, just like in real life.

When a DD is charging you at 35kts in 200m visiblity you are in big trouble regardless of the TC.

Stay submerged in heavy fog and you will be safe.

And you get the benefit that a good sonar man can hear ships much farther as even the best watch crew could see them.

Watch crew: up to 16km in perfect conditions
Sonar man: up to ~25km in all conditions

It is my opinion that GWX watch crews are blind wether there is fog or not. I've been surprised at least a couple of times by enemy ships firing their guns on me while on low TC's (like TCx64) on relatively clear weathered days.
