It's quite amazing.... and frankly a bit shocking.

That's strange, I made exactly the same change, and nothing changed at all. During the really dark hours I could not see my WO standing beside me on the bridge, much less any ships out there. I think this is pretty much an issue with (at least some) LCD screens, with my old CRT everything was OK with both graphic cards.

Hi mates,

Sorry for my absence. Busy RL...
@Reece:
Yes, it is possible to make any color or light that you want on sh3 environments. The file to be changed is mainly the EnvColors_*** but if you really want the evening sky you need to also modify the SkyColors_***. I guess that a lighter colors and a lighter color night sky is enough to you.

I'm without time to work on this again but is not difficult using the TTtweak for the EnvColors_Atl and a graphic soft for SkyColors_atl, just a bit time consuming to test and so on. Try it!

In the very late evening or early Dawn I think to myself - why can't it stay at this level, looks great, and can actually see the ships!!

Thanks Rubini

Although, I've never had a problem like this, it's good to know others will benefit from it.

Boy Iam glad that I still run a Sony TRintron 420gs CRT, In the dark overcast sky, I can see a Libtery ship about 400-600 Meters away, And this is with only GWX and no mod. Video card is a ATI 1600 pro 512mb, my CRT is 8 years old, at this time I would still try to fine a Crt, But LCD have come a long way! and some of the new video cards donot support CRT's

There is only 3 settings using minitweaker & checking the difference between Marhkimovs & standard shows no difference but using a file compare program shows about half the data is different!! So I don't think I would bother tweaking these, if you want I can upload marhkimovs 6 env files & you can see for yourself that they produce a bright night, just not as bright as I would like.
Cheers.
