I play with a headlamp that I just click on at dusk and turn off at dawn...

I run a high end system
Intel Core Duo 2.4 GHZ
ASUS P5B
2 GIG Dual ChannelDDR2 250 GIG SATA hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX
Sound Blaster X-FI sound card

I have trouble running 16K atmosphere also,my fps are great but I get some flickering from long shots.I mean the sky in the distance, the sun and moon etc.
However I have found that running in 8K is pretty darn good in itself.I get terrific graphics in 8K.
I dont know what my problem could possibly be unless its my Video card which I was assured could tow the mark.
But all in all i .love the GWX mod.

Kwi/FAA,

I see you both have the same card. Could be the issue? I use an Nvidia 6200 and night time is not bad for me. How about just a screen adjustment on the monitor itself?

I have the same night vision problems.
Ducimus' "Flavored to Taste" mod has a "lighter night" in it for those who use 16k.
You can get it here.
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...flavored+taste

If you don't want to use all of the rest of it. The files in the \data\Env folder and the \data\scene.dat are the ones you need.

Rubini has stated in another thread here
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...flavored+taste

that he is working on something for 8k and hopes to release it in a few days.

Nope...actually started to play GWX with my old PC that had a 6800 .... it has to be the LCD monitors (Dell) without the ultra sharp screens. Wish I would have waited a year and I could have bought that instead of the duller LCD....
