Q: VikingGrandad: Is SH4 being developed in such a way that it will be even more open to community modding than SH3 is?

A: Definitely. We've took a hard look at what the community has modded on the game, plus stuff that we wanted to be moddable ourselves. Whatever we could improve, we did, and we won't stop here

I found this quote from one of the SH4 developers on Ubisoft's website. It looks like SH4 will overall be more open for modding than SH3 was.

Well yeah, I think this will make "word of mouth" about SH4 more than SH3 was. Ubisoft could maybe make a few extra bucks by listening us faithful SH3 users. We, I believe, are the future for what SH4 will become, and much more. I am sure they will keep a close eye on us here at Subsim about what we say in the first month or so, so they can be sure to include anything major in the SH4 1.1 Patch, so test it hard, and speak up so they can be aware of it.

@ Tuddley3:

Hmm, why would the dev-team invest resources in order to convert a good mod into a future patch, unless it is a bug fix of course ? Regarding additional features I hope the dev-team will give us new stuff and not convert a mod.

I also hope the install feature of SH4 allows multiple installs, all with their own register settings. But I think we are not going to get that

Ok from what i have read about SH4 so far , it seems to me that the devs have bent over backwards (not literally) to accommodate our requests . I can envisage tons of mods but most importantly i can see cross modding from SH3 to SH4 and back . Modders prepare for sleep depravation .
