While it is very realistic for light hull damage, let's face it a skipper is going to know without a doubt when his hull is toast after it falls below 50% unless he was a tard. In order for the hull to fall to 3% every seal would have had to have failed - water should have been up to their hips several times and the metal would be grinding and groaning. There is simply no way a real sub could reach 3% hull stat without the whole crew knowing. I leave the hull stat on because I assume my crew is very well trained and not a bunch of dolts. About a third of those so-called REALISM settings in SH3 are not very realistic. They could be if they were designed to be more varriable.
SH2 was more realisitic in hull damage. If you were attacked on the surface you could get your hull punctured. In which case YOU COULD NOT DIVE without uncontrolled flooding. The SH2 U-boat could also list so badly that your sub was over on its side. Really a MOD should not mess with settings that anyone can choose to alter from within the SH3 choice screens. Too many mods try to become bossy GODS. |
