If there are no squid I'm not buying this game, I love squid and feel that they're inclusion will add considerable depth and realism to the game.

They just found a very big one off New Zealand, so for me New Zeland now has depth and realism

Technically they could. It's just that it was a one-way trip.
And once again my old argument crops up: it doesn't matter, because they couldn't really see outside anyway. Veggies and rocks on the bottom are silly.

Well everybody has been complaining about the Death screen, so it is mostlikely you will see the seabed during the enhanced death screen(also alot of people play with external views, and they would like better visuals). I think coral reefs would significly add to the gameplay and visuals, but they could get away with having more sudden depth changes on the ocean floor. I dont think there were any in Sh3, it was always a gradual change no underwater walls iirc.

aslong as those rocks move when I hit them its a step in the right direction.

EDIT: Mabe there should be an internal and external death screen so both parties can be happy.

Sea-bottom terrain:

And it's straight from the "Silent Hunter 4 Screenshots" thread.

I'm not so optimistic on the marine life. The devs have already said there won't be any dolphins.

Forget about veges look at the SHIV controls bar tis good, very good, its mint man, first time ive seen it cause im not viewing to much of SHIV pics they got up around sites including subsim as i want to be totally surprised when i get it.

Wont vegetation be a hogger on mid range PCs tho? Hope theirs a option to turn it off. Also now im at it i hope the damage repairs are way improved than SH3 - meaning slower times in repairing.

And heres hoping Neal will do a review on SHIV like he did on SH3

That hull sure has a few holes in it. All in all it looks okay, except for the scale--the sub looks like a toy. But hey, it's better than what SH3 offered, so I'll take it.

Is there a trick to seeing this picture? It looks very dark. I see some plantlife up close but that's it.

As for seaweed growing to be 400', that's because no one mows down there. :rotfl:

I can see the image fine. Try adjusting your monitor's gamma, brightness and/or contrast and see if that helps.
