Vista is not for games
![]() ![]() But wait... It's protection cannot resist cracking attempts from various Bernards and there are already different ways to bypass the protection ![]() ![]()

If you run flight sims as many of us do and run a Thrustmaster Cougar, it will not work with Vista., nor will Nero Ultra. Just to get permission to install FSX can be a battle in itself. You can read some of the fun this guy had..... http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?t=60002 Tho he says it wasn't all that bad and Vista has some good points, I get the feeling he's not all that crazy about it just yet.
And it does confirm that there is software that won't run with Vista, as Ive said before, that has not been ok'd by M$. Mind you this is "paid for" software, and not free or shareware.

Whatever the case, Vista will be a nightmare. But I would imagine it will come around and be fine. XP was nuts and then SP2 came out with fixes. Vista will be much the same. I suspect in a year all will be well in the sky and seas.
One can always partition the two.

True AVG, but from what I'm hearing it could be a long wait for a service pack. And that's not good for those getting Vista now, seeing it's preloaded on most all new computers sold in stores. I think it's a bit of a rush and everyone should still have the choice of buying either XP or Vista on store computers, at least until Vista does have a service pack out.

When XP first came out it was also rather incompatible with a fair chunk of existing software (and some hardware too). Microsoft began releasing Compatibility updates that allowed more and more of this software to work. The first one was released October 2001. Service Pack 1 was released September 9, 2002 and included all of the previously released compatibility updates up to that time (2 or 3 of them if I remember correctly).
