My new career is in a Type IIA at the moment too. Makes quite a big change to the IXC I drove in my previous campaign! Not a bad little boat but the range is a serious problem as is the lack of deckgun for early in the war where you commonly encounter lone, unarmed merchants. Have to say goodbye to those 50K, 60K, 70K and 80K patrols where you come back showered in renown and awards though unless you get really lucky and happen to stumble into the path of a task force or ocean liner.
Mine has a total of 6 torps though. Is this something that was changed with GWX perhaps? It certainly is a different experience but I'm looking forward to longer range, faster surface speed and large torpedo load that I'll get when my flotalia changes to the type VII boats. ________ Colorado Dispensary Last edited by IRONxMortlock; 08-14-11 at 02:38 PM. |
