My new career is in a Type IIA at the moment too. Makes quite a big change to the IXC I drove in my previous campaign! Not a bad little boat but the range is a serious problem as is the lack of deckgun for early in the war where you commonly encounter lone, unarmed merchants. Have to say goodbye to those 50K, 60K, 70K and 80K patrols where you come back showered in renown and awards though unless you get really lucky and happen to stumble into the path of a task force or ocean liner.

Mine has a total of 6 torps though. Is this something that was changed with GWX perhaps?

It certainly is a different experience but I'm looking forward to longer range, faster surface speed and large torpedo load that I'll get when my flotalia changes to the type VII boats.

.
Some Books and refferences say the Type II had a totall of six torps. where other books and sources say it only carried a totall of 5.
This is why one Big mod uses the 5 and the other the 6 torps variant.
It's up to you to decide what you'd like to believe!

I personally don't see why an extra Eel could not be stuffed somwhere in the bow compartment!:hmm:

Put a 7m long, 53cm high steel tube on your bedroom floor for a week. See how you like it!

Well my wife would demand that i get rid of it!
She the tidy sort!

I wouldn'T mind I have my Captains Quarter so...
But besides i don't think it's that far-fetched Mr Steve.

Some sources state that anyway.:hmm:

Fortune favors U-6 on the 3rd. patrol.
I'm not so good at story telling so I created a short wma of the patrol screens.

Great idea! I'll have to start doing this for my patrols.

Nice find with that HUGE large merchant too! I wish I could come across ships like in my Type IIA. Instead I find the "tramp steamer" variety.
