Well I don't know about anyone else but my watch officer can't bloody see further than 4km it's 1945 he's got all the medals, my radar will pick up ships from 8km out am useing the 8km in gwx on a clear night cloudless he can only see around 4km out in daylight clear no clouds calm seas the furthist he ever spotted a ship is 8.2KM.
