Welcome to the real world...

The most difficult to appreciate is the distance (specially when sea is a bit rough), which can induce errors in the target course. Don't hesitate to make several plottings in sequence 3'15", 6'30", 9'45" and repeat. The more estimated plots you have, the easiest it it to find an average course and speed. Also like Codmander said, the closest you can get for shooting (I try to be between 500 and 800m) the more forgiving will be your estimations. You will end up not hitting at the precise spot if you have a speed error for instance, at a longer distance it would end up by a miss.
Don't forget to open tube doors before firing and try to fire with a gyroangle as close to 000 as possible.

your gonna have to teach me to sail Corsair

We where actully thinking of selling the fishing bizz and gettin the 40ft sail for the family cruise but there is 1 or 2 problems like how to raise a sail instead of hittin the throttle:hmm:

I happen to be also a fan of sea fishing and I think you're lucky to live in place with plenty of nice big fish...

Have been often catching tuna in the med and also in the Bay of Biscay. While sailing in those places always have my 2 rods and Penn Senators rigged in the back with some Rapalas... 5 to 6 knots is the good speed, problem with sailing is you depend on the wind to give you enough power...

somthin to be said for a nice long sea cruise using the wind we have thought about it cape cod to hawaii threw pamana but it would take some doing to make that happen i totally know nothing about sailin navigation/sea condition/inlets no problem ---just basic sailin skills

And the sea will tell---pirate/murder/sailing movie 10 out of 10 if you havnt seen it -------- its a must see
