This ones for the type IXD2 colour is Dunkelgrau 52 sometimes used on uboats
get it here FUBARS_IXD2.rar

This last one is an update of an old med camo skin I made get this here
Fubars_med_camo_VIIB.rar

all these skins will work fine with GWX.

Hocking you can get a number of my skins here http://hosted.filefront.com/fubar45
I will be uploading all of my skins that I have made and I will be makeing them work
With GWX, MOST already work with GWX but not all. If you download any of my skins and all the files inside the mod are tga files they will work fine with GWX
if they have DAT files they won't work with GWX but as I said above I will be updateing them soon.

Edelweiss the skin you want is here http://hosted.filefront.com/fubar45

Thanks for the link Fubar, I really appreciate all your efforts with these skins.

By the way, I was under the impression that most U-Boats (at least the ones with two colors only and no camo patterns) were painted with a Dunkelgrau 2 lower half, and Hellgrau 50 upper half. Is this true?

I modeled Revell's 1:72 scale VIIC (U552), and painted it in this two-color scheme is why I am asking. Thanks.

Hi all thanks for the kind words

Hocking Hellgrau 50 was often used on pre and early war boats then Dunkelgrau 51 was also used alot, there are also a number of other colours which were used.
As regards to the lower hull my research points to Schiffsbobenfarbe III grau (Dunkelgrau 53 was the same colour but did not contain any anti-fouling ingredients)

check this link out http://uboatcolours.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/

hope this helps.

Thanks for the link Fubars. My first build of this model was U-552 in an early war configuration (net cutter, paint scheme from early war period, ect....), so I think I got the colors right. I may build this model again in a late war configuration, and use a different paint scheme.

I noticed you posted up some updated skins today on FileFront. I take you are updating all the skins that you currently have available so they work in GWX? I hope, your skins really add to the immersion in the game. Do you have any VIIB, IIa, or IID skins available? I think the only skin I saw for any of these three boats was a "Med Camo Scheme" for the VIIB. Is it possible to use any of your VIIC skins on a VIIB without any problems? Or, can you only use each skins specifically for the boat you made it for? I am guessing that once you install your skins using JSGME, the skins will only show up in your game when you load that particular U-Boat up in the game.

Just curious, as I like to try all the different boats out as I move from 1939 through 1945 (except for the XXI that is), and I am currently in a VIIB.

Thanks.

Dark Ship, I have this wonderful camo skin from Konrad Krumm's available (thanks for the credits Mast, I wasn't aware of that) ; if someone can tell me where I could upload it, I'd be happy to make it this way available to all.

For those who - like me - go into (deep) details, this skin is now a bit outdated by Fubar's latest ones. Don't make me say what I do not mean, I'm talking about the details only ! (it's a killer skin too.) You'll have to look at it closely though ; but Fubar and some will surely know what I mean, as there's an evolution in his work too regarding tiny details, as I was saying above : rivets, holes in the sub's hull, hydrophones, weathering, etc...

That's why I was hoping that this skin (one of my favs too) would be upgraded one of these days : "Fubar's 58 VIIC" or "Das Boot VIIC" hulls would IMO be the perfect basis for that (adding the camo scheme). Unfortunately, I'm not skilled enough at Photoshop to do it myself...
