there is a little program that allows you to change the depth your sub can reach
or randomize it ... someone also made some gauges that go to 400 m
dont remember who made it

yes i used to use that its in the downloads section. but i could take some boats down as 350 so didnt think it was realistic so got shut of it

When WW2 began skippers were somewhat reluctant to dive very deep because crush depth was just a theoretical figure no-one would try out just for fun. When the war got harder and crews were more experinced they saw that they could go WAY deeper than what they had thought. Although they didn´t deliberately push it to the limit, it was common practise in later war to go to 200m when crash-diving. This was very deep and not too far away from the actual crush depth, but it was considered "safe" enough, and avoiding detection and depth charges justified such a depth.

The former would be TimeTraveller's Crush Depth Randomizer. It's a wonderful tool which lets you set the crush depth according to real numbers, then randomize it just to make it more worrysome.
