Could be a little off the mark here but I think you have to sink something like 50/60k before medals come in multiples

Hello All,
Just wondering about the Awards system. I think the only thing I disliked about SHIII was how Awards are to be given. You have a Sub full of Crewmen, you get into a fight at sea, win, return to port and now you have 3 medals (or more) to issue out. How can I tell who really should get the Medals. I used to fly B-17II and when you flew with an entire Squadron, with 10 crewmen on 12 planes thats 120 crewmen. The Sim actually determined who did what and if it warrented a Medal(s). Some crewmen actually earned more then 1 at times. In SHIII, I have no clue who did what or when. sure I could check out all crewmen anytime I want but, I am not going to go thru the entire roster while in combat just to see who's where. I know GWX took the Medals off the uniforms so now I'm sure it'll be even harder to know who I'm looking at since I usually knew who my best crewmen were by the medals they had. Did GWX make any other changes to the way Medals are awareded? Other then that SHIII was great and GWX looks even better.

The no medals on the uniforms deal is optional, you can have them still displayed on there, just go to the JSGME icon that GWX put in your SH III directory and you can turn the options on and off with that.

Hello Schatten,
Thanks for the quick reply. I am currently reading about the SH3 Commander File. So far, it seems like a very useful tool to help manage Awards and make them a lot easier to work with. Though I am still stuck with the same problem of how to determing who gets what.:hmm:

![]() As for SH III Commander it's a great tool, I wouldn't know what to do without it. It's worth it just for the very groovy Captain's Log options in my book, but when you look at everything else it can do, well it's pretty much essential to have in my opinion. It's not that hard to figure out either. But yeah, deciding what qualifications and medals to pass out can be tricksy indeed. On the bright side if you decide you should have done the qualifications a little differently then after a patrol is over you can run SH III Commander again and re-adjust them as you see fit. |
