Yeah, what they said. Also you may get lucky and only have one or two patrol craft patrolling the harbor. This means the starboard watch is active and the larboard watch is resting. Put a torpedoe into the patrol sleeping at the dock, and they won't wake up when you sink the fat tanker. Some say a fish on a 300 tonner is a waste, but personally I like to buy the Admiral of the Yard a Beck's when I RETURN. He has never failed to replace that "wasted torp".

I would also like to say most ports can also be attacked on the surface, with the exception of Scapa,Firth of Forth, loch ewe, but at loch ewe just sail to the back of the gun installations and fire away.
If you feel adventerous have a sail across the altlantic and raid Norfolk, there's a carrier in there, also there's 2 light cruisers and a passenger liner in Dover. |

Go to New York, I emptied my IXD2 there. To much to kill, including a fat, nice liner just below the statue of liberty.

Welcome aboard Renegado

I tried to sneak into Portland a few days ago in mid 1940 with the Campaign-Files of LSH3 and GW (the Rest). Thats where that thing with the Battleship happens. Except this it was quite exciting......mit those mods there are about 2 Liners in that harbour, 3 Troop Transports, a few cruisers and in the middle a Carrier and a Battleship.
(Realistic placement, t think, looks just like that one day on my vacation a few years ago, when a US-Carrier-Group made a stop at Funchal Harbour, Madeira, claiming the whole inside of the Port for itself with the Carrier and and 2 Ticonderoga-Cruisers) Anyway, what really was fun was that it felt a bit like in that Stealth-Games like Hitman. I sneaked in unnoticed, passing by a T3-Tanker at the harbour entrance and gave it a little greeting from my aft tube. It exploded immitiately, now this obviously caused panic as the WHOLE HARBOUR WOKE UP, about 5 or 6 Destroyers, Trawlers and Corvettes startet searching for me. I still torpedoed the Carrier and the Battleship, with the Carrier sinking and the Battleship doing that annoying laying on the seafloor mentioned above. And by the Way: I survived, but my boat was junk afterwards, "red" conning tower, aft tubes destroyed, flodding...... |
