That's what the real uboats did, went around the british isles. Channel was too dangerous.

I can see why they had to worry about fuel so much. When you start from Kiel and have to work your way all the way around the north tip of england, you burn a lot of fuel before you even start patrolling. I cant wait untill I make the move to France.

Essentially, England controlled the channel. There are plenty of mines. If you want to see on really close, visit a port or two within the channel. Before you set sail, write your last will and testament
