Default Editing crush depth

What file do I need to edit in order to increase my crush depth?

Timetravelers crush depth program is near useless for the task of getting a boat pass 1500+ meters.

I realize that 1500+ meters is totally unrealistic but I have played with 100% realism on GW for a awhile and now I just want a arcade like expriance like in the orginal silent hunter.

I guess you want to go deep-sea diving...To look at the strange creatures on the bottom of the deep sea...

The cfg files in the submarine folders has that value in it, but I'm not sure if that's the only place where it's referenced and important. The sim files might have something to do with it as well?

The subs ZON file deals primarly with the "shell" of a sub. LIke crush depth, rate at which the sub will crush, and hitpoints.

The SIM file deals with the "guts" of the sub. Diesel performance, batteries, etc. Also deals with rate at which the boat's ballast tanks will flood, and rudder/hydroplane drag rates.

I guess i should have read the OP more closely.

Game , i think, only renders a sub to 500 meters anyway. On top of that by default all AI sensors only go down 300 meters and at the same depth depth charges magically POOF as if hit by an invisble barrier. I love deep diving as much as the next yahoo, but when theres no risk involved, its not any fun.

Nah. Don't use TT's crush depth program, get the tweaker instead. Much more robust, the sky is *almost* the limit as to what you can tweak. Acutally, you CAN tweak the sky too,

I'll have to play around with it and when I do get done tweaking I'll post a screenshot of the very bottom of the North Pole Ice Wall

If you run SH3Cmdr, let it do it for you.

Simply open "SH3 options.cfg" and look for the [CRUSH DEPTH] block. Change the number at the end of each line (or just the line relevant to the u-boat you want to test with) to any 4 byte single number (ie between 1.5 x 10^–45 and 3.4 x 10^38).

You can also change Lower=0.9 to Lower=1.0 to force SH3Cmdr *not* to randomise the depth at all.

Nb: No blaming SH3Cmdr if the value you set causes CTD's or other instabilities.
