There is also a blog by the Vista devs: http://blogs.technet.com/windowsvist...r-Windows.aspx The interesting part is: On that note, today MS.com published the retail license terms for Windows Vista; you can find them here. Two notable changes between Windows Vista license terms and those for Windows XP are: 1) failure of a validation check results in the loss of access to specific features (this is the SPP news you’ve likely been reading about this past week); I don't know If just a change of the video card for example results in a validation check failure but twice a change of mainbord or cpu does, said the testers in the PC magzines. The bad thing, if want to play DirectX10 Games in the future, you will need Vista because as far as I know it will no be available for XP/2000. ![]()

Yeah, actually those DirectX10 games are the only thing that I'm worrried about. There're several interesting titles coming up and I'll be damned if I can't play those. However, I wouldn't be really worried about Vista just now, regarding upgrading ones 'puter. a) Vista ain't ready yet
b) M$ will have to back down on this or there's no ending for the b....ing they're about to receive. They already allowed security software companies an access to Vista, so I expect they've to do something also on this. There'll be quite exciting hardware stuff coming up soon- chips, boards and and cards- and M$ simply can't afford to get a bad rep when people will begin to upgrade their machines. Hackers are just itching for that kinda opportunity. |
