Mel is American. He came to Australia when he was young after his father died (his mother is Australian). It's a bit like Russell Crow is a New Zealander, but he says he Australian.
If NEw Zealand want him, you can have him back, just give us Keisha Castle-Hughes back.... No, changed my mind, you can have them both.
