I must admitt, after a reinstall of windows and sh3 before i added all my mods to the game i decided i did have one patrol in the stock game- without mods but patch to 1.4. I loaded her up started a new campaign VIIB in 1939 and left kiel to GridBF17 took the long way around instead of the channel. What struck me first was the loud sound of the diesel engines running when on deck, i forgot they were so loud in the stock game and looking at the rust on the conning tower was an eyesore i so much prefer skin mods!
Just before BF17, somewhere in the AM grid forget now, i came across a convoy- daytime, conditions were calm and their was only one escort leading her. I took out the escort with one torp, then surface and totally sunk all but the neutrel ships with torps and deckgun - i had a field day out their. With GW or RUB i probably never would of had a day like that - the escort would of zigged his way towards me and tried to make life very difficult - a possiblity i would of died on my first mission. But with the stock game it was a piece of cake! I sunk 11 ships out of 15 And i hadn't even reached my ordered patrol grid yet!:rotfl:

To easy but fun all the same.

I "play" for the authenticity of the simulation. I could care less if I sink one ship, 100 ships or no ships in a patrol. To me, a 100k club or 200k club merely turns this into a gigantic pinball game. The ones with the highest scores get to have their names on the pinball "hall of fame".

There's really no way, I don't believe, that you can make the "rules" the same for everyone. You could say that you have to get 100k in one patrol with your realism at 100%, but how do you verify that? You can have the log to show the 100k, but what about the realism level? I could get 100k in a patrol, prove it with the log, and claim I did it at 100% when it was really only 25%. I merely make the patrol at 25%, rack up my high game score, then take a screenshot of the realism screen AFTER I've reset everything to 100%.

But, to each his/her own. If high tonnage scores are what it's all about to you, knock yourself out.
