A question about the Seasonal Wave Height option:

I've read the Help and FAQ --- and, really, this option is fairly self-explanatory --- but I'm not really sure that it's working: I'm on a December patrol, out near the Shetlands, and there's no wind, no cloud cover, and the ocean is smooth as glass. What governs this option?

(Oh, I'm also running GW1.1 --- will this effect it somehow?)

Wave height does not affect the weather, it's the other way around.

In stock SH3, 0 m/s wind speed gives a glassy surface whereas 15 m/s wind speed gives the greatest wave height of (from memory) just under 4m.

Problem is, 15 m/s is the max wind speed modelled in the game, regardless of season or theatre.

SH3Cmdr expands on a mod created by TimeTraveller, where greater wind speeds are simulated through a visual increase in wave height.

With the SH3Cmdr option selected, during the summer months, stock SH3 wave height values are used. However, in the winter months, wave heights are just under double the stock value, to simulate harsher winter conditions, or in other words, wind speeds of greater than 15 m/s.

When the weather next turns foul, you should notice the difference.
