GW1.1: Large Tanker weakest spot, best hit location ?

Tankers can be really tough.In Das Boot,they shoot one tanker up and hit it's oil tanks.Fuel starts to leek on the water and it ignites-a horrible blaze covering the whole ship.6 hours later after evading the convoy escorts,they returned to the tanker.It was still burning,and still floating with no real problems.They shot it one more time with a torp,and then it finally sank.

You guys are using GW 1.1 right ?

Nice story from Das Boot, need to watch that again (8 hour version!)

Yep GW 1.1 and NYGM user myself...but the use the same damage system for now.
And about DB-holy smokes 8 hours?I have to settle with the 3 h 20 m Director's Cut version

Erm...yes...but we were talking about the resistance of the ship itself and not the crew.But on a side note I don't really understand why the captain didn't want to save those poor guys.

Uboats were forbiden to pick up survivors after the Laconia incident
It was pretty much frowned on before though they would give assistance if possible

Didn't know about the incident.Thought the captain was affraid that the people would see a lot of things inside the boat and could perhaps tell the info to the brit navy.Thanks for telling me that

Even if I'm spotted, it's just a tanker so it does'nt really matter. I usually sneak up an then I ambush. I always order my deck gun crew to hit at water level with highly explosive or armor piercing shells. They're always sinking for sure with that method...

Yea but deck-gunning big ships isn't really ...historical if you will.
Also,the tanker might call in warships or RAF so don't be so confidend on it just being a tanker
