NEWS FLASH

At 2137 this evening the ultra large crude carrying oil tanker jahre viking rammed and sank an unknown vessel in the dogger bank area, due to the vessels immence size the Jahare Viking was powerless to stop or even turn to avoid the unknown ship.

The Captain of Jahare Viking reported his radar was not functioning properly earlier that evening to Harwich vessel traffic services as it was due to high winds.
The Captain also reported that the unknown vessel had only two small bridge lights on to warn ships of its presence.

It is known that this ship was at anchor when struck, air and sea search have begun its likely the smaller vessel was forced under the the Jahre Viking causing her to sink rapidly, emergency services are saying they do not expect to find survivors.

This picture was taken by one of the forward cams just seconds before impact, the stern cameras later showed that there was nothing.

Now thats the same pic with a yellow circle round it i had to see that from the bridge about 1300 feet away i saw it but by the time i did it was way too late, could you blame me for running it down?

Not your fault. Small ships give way to bigger ones. That would be the rule of the sea!
