That's pretty much my take on it. Knowing that an "enemy player" is remorselessly conducting "lost contact" searches and periodically driving you deep again - if the depth is possible - all the while progressively bashing you with DC's is going to be a wholly different - and highly personal - adversary. Post game debriefs when this cat and mouse game has been played to the full, should be quite amusing! My hope is that eventually it'll be possible for a "convoy commander" to be able to direct AI escorts to do various tasks along bearings, or at positions, or positions relative to the moving convoy, (with gradually expanding limitations on how far escorts can move away from the convoy) - and have allied players able to drop into any escort - could be very interesting indeed....especially in a multi-boat game.
