I used D-Fend Reloaded as a front to dosbox it will setup the config files
https://dfendreloaded.sourceforge.io/ just do a search on youtube you'll find plenty of videos how to set it up

I wish I would have known about this game way back in the 90s amazing how much it has going on. I'm just about finished the tutorial missions.

You might want to grab the revised and corrected editions with the PlayersDB
Harpoon3.6.3 users can get the: Complete PlayersDB Harpoon 3.6.3 Library Quite a few problems were found and resolved with those scenarios. Glad to see you enjoying the game.
