Star Trek: the original series, and TNG were the shows I thoroughly enjoyed. I thought DS9 was kind of intriguing in some ways. But Voyager and Enterprise were absolutely awful. I watched 1 1/2 seasons of Voyager. And I couldn't even make it past two episodes of Enterprise.

What's your favourite movies? for me it is, without doubt, ST-VI, and ST-VIII. I also like ST IX a lot, because of the relative calm in it and one of the most beautiful and moving scenes I have ever seen in ST (when Picard is being explained that learning does not need a lifetime and the Kolibri in front of him slows down in flight and finallly freezes in the air), and ST-IV, because it's queer humour.

STI, ST-VII are the most awful of them all.

Uh, and this: Spock rules!

Aaah, the original series, I haven't watched many of them but I watched Balance of Terror the other day and oh what a classic!

I'll have to agree with Skybird, TNG and DS9 were good, VOY was pretty rubbish (as much as my fiance likes it), and ENT only got good in its last season.

As for the movies, my favourite TOS movies have to be STII (KHAAAAAN!!), STIV (for sheer craziness) and STVI (probably my favourite of the TOS movies).

So...who are your favourite TOS characters then? Mines gotta me Montgomery "If we keep this speed we'll blow up any minute now!" Scott, followed up perhaps by Sulu or Chekov

Characters? Spock. Worf. Jadzia (for optical reasons And in the movies: Picard. In ST-VIII and later, Stewart was allowed far greater acting freedom to develope the character. Results sometimes were quite impressive, imo. In that he is very different to Shatner, who always was sticked to representing a type. Which was good a choice for the character of Kirk. but beyond Kirk, Shatner is a damn bad actor, different to Stewert. No wonder that they do not like each other. It is said that their cooperation in ST-VII was "difficult".

Now, which is your favourite pair of characters? Spock - McCoy? Odo - Big Ear? Worf - Jadzia?

Yep been a casual treky fan all my life, I use to watch startrek and Battlestar galattica when a kid. The latest startrek series is rubbish, althoguh i watch them, and remeber one where they went back into time or another dimension where the nazi's were in control of america - america and the nazis were alllies. But the guy who acted as the captain just didn't do it for me. And they added a vulcan female was she related to spock? Or did they just throw her in to keep the fans happy

My favourite episode to do more so with Kirk was The Enemy Within, a transporter accident separates Kirk in two a good one and the evil one, that evil Kirk really looked like a twisted mad man great stuff. My other favourite episode are The Menagerie parts 1 & 2 clever how they revamped the failed pilot episode, Balance of Terror and the classic The Galileo Seven where Spock's logic was hit and miss. And Tomorrow Is Yesterday, Court Martial, The Return of the Archons, Space Seed which was followed by Star Trek 2 as a follow up nice touch. A Taste of Armageddon, The Devil in the Dark, Errand of Mercy, The Alternative Factor which as I recall was the only episode that showed the Enterprise firing it's phasers from the stern view and to wrap up season one The City on the Edge of Forever,Operation Annihilate.

As I move on to season two who can forget that classic story Mirror Mirror Where the Federation is the Empire and a very ruthless one at that. The Doomsday Machine another good one and who can leave out the Halloween episode Cat's Paw. Another great Kirk episode was Obsession where Kirk comes face to face with the vampire cloud, Wolf in the Fold sees Sotty on trail for murder. The tongue in cheek gangster episode A Piece of the Action who can forget Kirk driving the car scene, The Immunity Syndrome and A private Little War, Patton's of Force which was a well I shall say no more on that one. The Ultimate Computer another good one seeing Kirk once again beats the computer.

And finally the not so good season three, The Enterprise Incident and Spectre of the Gun along with The Day of the Dove were good episodes the rest were weak or daft. Fred Freiberger who was bought in on season three as far as I am concerned killed Star Trek and latter on he killed Gery Andersons Space 1999.
