I found a workaround. After verifying my game with Ubisoft Connect I restarted the PC in Safe Mode. The installer then ran successfully
![]() I chose my mods in JGME, started the game successfully, but alas, when I started a new campaign, the game crashed. I tried 3 more times. The game crashes on starting new campaign ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Question though, do I need to change Gameplay Settings and set difficulty at campaign start? I did when starting new campaign. |

![]() There must be a hell of a circus in your machine ![]() For the request you made to me I refuse to do that...sorry.. working on a clean machine is well regulated otherwise the problems can be everywhere... It is partly because of this that I refuse your request... ![]() Vecko specifies that it is necessary to stop the defense protocols I even recommend that you leave your C disk..switch to D.. steam&Ubiconnecte... deactivate the software UAC the system will thank you... good luck or a good formatting. .. Disabled UAC. No luck. I had previously tried an install on my E: drive with no luck either. |

Have you tried doing compatibility settings on the SH5.exe file? It shouldn't be as important as it is with SH4, but try setting the DPI scaling to application. It depends upon your video card and display, as to what you set things to. Some don't need to do anything.

Whenever I have had setting up issues like this, my go to starts with a software uninstall, followed by a physical program delete using file manager. I would also physically delete anything in the /Documents/ SH5 folder. I also uninstalled the Ubisoft Connect program using that same process as well as deleting my Steam package. Then the last step is running CCleaner to clear out any remaining registry items and finishing the uninstall with a PC shutdown.
For the SH5 install (I am using the Steam version) I printed out the installation procedure from the documentation folder and marked off the steps being done with a yellow marker. On the installation my first step was to install Ubisoft Connect and sign in, so I knew that part was working. For the Steam part I requested a fresh download and ran the vanilla installation. Only when running SH5 for the first time and the Polish campaign was completed did I install the SH5 Expansion Pack v2.2.24_Full. One more patrol to check that all was working before the final update to Update_v2.2.25. It would only be at this point I would consider adding any mods to complement the TWoS installation. |
