An overnight storm has worsened the conditions for hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who have fled their homes.

Many are in makeshift shelters or sleeping rough.

Israel says it carried out 250 strikes in the past 24 hours. Hamas officials say 50 people have been killed in the latest wave of air strikes.

And Israel’s army say 10 soldiers were killed in fighting in Gaza yesterday - the deadliest day for the military since its ground offensive began.

The UN General Assembly has overwhelmingly adopted a non-binding resolution demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden has issued his sharpest criticism yet of Israel, saying the country is starting to lose global support over its "indiscriminate bombing" of Gaza.

Hamas broke through Israel's heavily guarded perimeter on 7 October, killing 1,200 people and taking 240 hostages - some of whom were released during a brief truce.

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says Israel's military response has killed 18,400 people and injured more than 50,000
