With my last PC, I had 10-12fps and it was pretty smooth. My current PC is: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2GB of RAM GF7800GTX and I have 50-80fps. You really cant compare FS2004 and Falcon 4 with SHIII, as they are years older games. Besides, MS Flight sims have never been too pretty.
