Default Ship sunk icon?

Greetings fellow Captains,
In reading your transmissions, I occasionally notice mention of a ship sunk icon on the map. I vaguely remember that when I first started playing SHIII two month's ago but haven't seen them since. Is it a feature that can be toggled on/off? I am running GW's and Commander 2.5 but not until recently (i.e. no icons before installation). Also, does any kind of manual or menu exist for the useable features of those two mods? I am still discovering things purely by accident. Thanks,
-Lars

Have a look in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilenthunterIII\data\Menu\Gui\Units and find the "ship destroyed.tga"
Is it a small white square when you open it ?

Bigboywooly-
I checked as much as I can navigate...when I get to "ship destroyed.tga", it is represented by a Quicktime icon w/ TARGA printed underneath. However, so are the other files under Units.

If you click on it to open it is it a black background with a white square in the middle ?

A PictureViewer window pops up with a white background and no data.
