Yeah....I finally stumbled across the correct file.....and no... I do like the cheer effect ....I'm mostly wondering if simply moving it into the vanilla version alone is enough to "active" the effect or will I need to do more to have it play.

No, sh3 will simply play what ever file you have in there, I actually did what you are doing, just copied the original 2 files over the GW ones, however you probably should do it before starting a new patrol.

Just move the 2 files into all 9 speech folders and you should be good to go.

![]() ![]() ![]() I tried doing it my way and then everyway suggested and the cheering effect simply refuses to play after the impact....I get the torpedo impact (in German) message and sound byte. ![]() I replaced all the original files with the GW files. No go. Started fresh. I tried rewriting over all the original files with the GW files. No go. Started fresh. I tried replacing only the Ono_Cheers01.ogg & Ono_Cheers02.ogg files. No go. Oh well ![]() |

Many Thanks Poor Sailor....worked like a charm.
As I stated or at least hinted in my original post I was suspecting that just copying in the files alone was not enough....I was fairly certain there had to be an associated file that would be needed to make the sound file play at the correct time. I simply did not know which one it was.....sure glad you did! If they had a saluting emoticon I would place it here.... ![]() |
