Learning the dits and dahs for the letters can be done in an hour or two for sure. But turning that into a usefull skill takes many more hours of practice, as I'm finding out one hour at a time

Yes, it's harder when you are listening to it, because you must not think how long are the tones you are listening. I just learn the basic characters but I'm not ready to talk using morse code yet.
