Yes they are shorter ranged but i find them A more reliable and B easier to use cause i dont have to come to 60 meters or less to fire wasting valuble time in doing so.

Also to note, il probly be detected on my way up and i dont want that do i as he who makes the first sound dies first.

ASROCS in real life acctualy make alot of noise id rather not do that id rather get in and scoot out and leave them guessing.

wouldnt you?

That's exactly what I achieve in the game with the ASROC, engage without giving away any information, not even a bearing. Maybe that's another issue that LW/Ami MODS will fix

Wasn't this fixed long ago ?? There is no TIW message but the noise of missile launch is detectable even at long ranges...

And IF we ABSOLUTELY WANT TIW message, then maybe such workaround - SUBROC after launch drops immediately (not just out of the tube but near surface, to get cavitation) a small dummy torpedo (can have no 3D model or dummy model) that makes TIW message and shutdowns after that. It would probably work but not very elegant solution... and it would be TIW message, no "missile launch" or something... but could take your attention to look at sonar screen and see the missile transient.

Hmm... we can do that I think.

We'll see what happens.

Sorry for my ignorance in regards of the capability of your MODS, but I personally would prefer a bright, short, visible trace in the BB and no TIW message, when an ASROC or other Missiles are launched, and I wonder how things would be if we'd eliminate the automatic TIW message completely?

Well that's exactly what is in LWAMI right now.

The TIW message cannot be eliminated, as this is coded in the interface and engine.

That's just curious, because I sunk many subs with ASROC but none with the 53cm yet

But thinking about it, they could be a serious option if the opp is a Kilo, for short range fights
