![]() You know God forbid the Leader of a nation put thats nations interests before the interests of other nations - outrageous! I mean - you dont see ANY other countries or UNIONS around the world doing that do you? :P Case and point, that really only irks comfortable progressives with no real major societal or economic problems that can afford the luxury of such outward consideration at their own expense. But to everyone else its a pretty normal expectation that their leader serves their own interests first. And its noticeably a progressive standard that's not applied consistently as national self interests its only controversial to the 'Baizou' (as the Chinese call it), when leaders western countries do it. But when other nations do it, no complaints! There are many reasons to take Boris to task, but that's not really one of them IMO. When you are trying to make a deal, you play hardball and ask for more than you will reasonably get, in order to work your way down to what you can realistically get. (Trump does this all the time and he thinks he a genius for it lol.) but its negotiation 101. If you start out on a negotiation with the minimum you want, you will end up with less than you wanted after compromising. Last edited by JU_88; 10-04-19 at 04:03 AM. |

The meaning of this thread was to ask you if this friends friend was correct when she wrote this as an answer to my comment. I said to our fellow friends a free Danish debatforum would perhaps be a better choice than FB, who keeps on jailing Danish member even though they haven't been breaking any law of free expression according to Danish law. In other word she means there is no such things a free speech anymore-Not in a Country who's member of the EU. Markus |

hmm i'm not sure. If someone is breaking the rules in Facebook it is FB's Right to stop it, just like in this forum, or any other. There is no free speech even here, though Neal and the moderators are very forgiving imho.
If someone insults other persons or proposes to harm them.. i do not know which special case you or your friend's friend thought of, or refer to. There was a lot of hubbub about the EU wanting to 'punish' or 'ban' anyone who says something against the EU. This is not true. But if someone agitates and proposes to kill some EU or danish politician for his/her opinion, there has to be a clear cut, and rightly so. I know that the level of public discussion has deteriorated in the last years, with some politicians serving as shining examples to follow them, with some (new) media echoing them. I would try not to follow them.

Insulting another person shall never be allowed and a yellow card for such an action is ok.
We have almost free writing in this forum-We are not allowed to use certain words and we are not allowed to insult another member, but beside that we can discuss almost everything.(Not funny things grown-ups do in their bedroom) Throughout the years I have seen members starting thread they meant was interesting to be discussed. Well we all have. And not to forget - We have an ability to derail threads. Markus |

Wales & N.I mostly Voted leave, Scotland was a landslide for remain, but Remain still lost so i'm not sure where you are going with this - Boris 'says' he will take the UK out the EU, which it appears is what a slim majority of the country wants. I understand you don't like it, and you are deeply opposed to that. but we must try to keep it in perspective. Last edited by JU_88; 10-04-19 at 07:53 PM. |
