Trouble with FPS

@THEBERBSTER, I only have 1 installation (well, now I just have unistalled it, because I think this game beat me already). I have also bought a steam copy to see if it worked on another platform, but to no avail, I also couldn't hear music or sounds, and updating it to 1.2 it's impossible for my computing skills. So I asked for a refund.

Just to repeat and clarify what Peter 'THEBERBSTER' said above, it's really important:
If you did install TWoS over a SH5 game which was not 1.2.0, then you have big trouble...
Unfortunately, TWoS may install over any SH5 version, and you will read anyway 1.2.0 on the upper right, but that may be WRONG !

As a last ressort, de-install your whole thing, re-install the game and then, make sure you update it to 1.2.0 - just before installing TWoS, launch the game and go look in the main menu that you read 1.2.0 on the upper right. Quit and install TWOS.

Thanks, I did install TWoS over an updated 1.2 version. I have lost count of how many times I have installed the damned thing in my life (today at least 3 times). The problem is not TWoS, but has something to do with 1) the driver, (because it is impossible that the game is using my Gtx 1070 and giving me 4 FPS at the bunker), and 2) my sound device.

I haven't been able to fix anyone of those two problems. It is the first time this game beats me, but I can endure it no more.

If anyone here has a gtx 1070 and can give me some clues about which driver should I use, and which configuration to use, it would be very appreciated.

I have a GTX 960 4GB VRAM, with the 417.35 driver, shortcut set to admin, only default settings in my Nvidia Panel. My game loads so fast when reloading a save that I cannot read the interesting text that comes onscreen, and you have a much better GPU...

After you start game the screen will go black for awhile (15 seconds on my rig), this is normal.


Do you have any xxxxx_Draggables.TDW files in your main game directory? Delete them all and restart, maybe this is the problem, but I doubt.

I use C only as system drive... could it be that??

Hey, your drive and game folders must not be write-protected...(how often did I say this already...Next time I start with that one...)

I had it installed in D\ubisoft\sh5... it was not write protected. I am installing it on C\ubisoft now (not write protected either I think)

Update: nope. Installed it in the DEFAULT drive, full privileges, 4 FPS at bunker, no sound effects, no crew voices. I quit.
